Claire’s first job after University was with Radix Training where she worked for 3.5 years as a Marketing Executive. After Radix went into liquidation she joined R T Resources which was established by two of the former Directors of Radix and she has been with the company ever since, working her way up from Marketing Executive to Director in 2010 and owner in 2015. 

She said “My job is wide and varied– no two days are ever the same which keeps it interesting and challenging and you learn something new every day. Essentially my main role is to keep the business viable, deliver the level of service to our customers and stakeholders that they expect and deserve, continue to grow our customer base and improve our reputation, ensure everyone in the Team is doing what they should be to ensure the business runs efficiently, effectively and productively and making sure they are supported to do so. I am ultimately responsible for everything to do with the business from HR to finance,  business development to compliance and regulation, staff welfare to quality and everything else in between. I take my responsibilities seriously and never regard being a Director as a ‘status symbol’ but as a duty and a responsibility.”

Claire is married and in her spare time enjoys walking, cooking, socialising with family and friends, eating out and travelling.


Elaine started her career as a Sage trainer and worked for a local IT company for 10 years.  She then had her own bookkeeping and Sage business.  After the birth of her children she worked for an engineering company handling accounts and payroll. When her children started school she moved on to Ayrshire College where she lectured in Business, Marketing and Accounts. She also delivered Core Skills within the community.

Elaine joined RT Resources three years ago as a Core Skills Assessor, after a few years looking after the company’s accounts and payroll systems sub-contract.  Her job role as evolved over time to also take in the Marketing and IT systems as well as the Finances and Payroll within the company. 

Elaine said, “I really enjoy the diversity of my job role at RT Resources.  No two days are ever the same.  I enjoy meeting up with candidates to assess their Core Skills however I am equally happy to be presented with a new problem to fix, flier to design or the web site to keep updated.  It’s always good to have a challenge!”

Elaine is married with 2 children and they also have a Jack Russell puppy called Cooper. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, walking, recently paddleboarding and going away for weekends in their caravan.  Elaine also is a bit of a fitness freak and gets up at 5.30 every morning to go to her local Crossfit gym.

Kate Smith, Office Manager

Kate Smith is our Office Manager and responsible for the smooth running of our administration.  She has worked with RT Resources for over 14 years. 

Kate has 2 children, 1 grandchild and a dog and a cat, Cracker and Cobalt.  Kate is a keen crafter and enjoys making cards, gifts, Christmas Baubles, Easter chicks and baskets.  In fact, anything you want made, Kate can make it!  Kate also enjoys watching television dramas and there is usually lots of office chat about the latest series with Elaine. 


Irene is our Admin Assistant and has been employed in the Further Education Sector since 1980. 

She said, “My job at RT Resources is to assist staff in the day to day running of the company through the use of general administration skills – word processing, photocopying, filing, maintaining present state analysis (PSAs) monthly, process registration of candidates with SQA, database entry, archiving documents and preparing and formatting documents.”

Irene is married and has a keen interest in genealogy.
